Update - March 2019
How is it already March? The year is running away with itself!
Anyway, a few things are coming up in the life of All Saints...
Pastoral Emergency Fund
At tomorrow's services (9.30am Beacon and 6.30pm Communion) there will be an opportunity to give towards a fund that can be used to bless people in particular moments of need.
Church Family Sunday Lunch
Next Sunday (10th March) everyone's invited to stay after the morning service (or pop home and come back) to share lunch together in the hall. Just bring something that you'd like to eat and we'll put out chairs and tables to continue in fellowship and get to know each other better.
Plans for the Hall
A working party has met three times to pray and discuss how best to implement the ideas for the hall. Plans are coming along well and will be presented to the PCC for approval on 21st March. After that we'll have copies of the drawings, estimated costs and the plan of action for everyone to see. We then hope to begin the work as soon as possible, perhaps even by the Easter school holidays. I'm really excited about what that's going to mean for using the hall in our worship and witness.
Tearfund - Church and Community
A representative is coming to share an idea for how we as a church can work with our community for the good of us all. There'll be a presentation as part of our evening service (6.30pm) on the 17th March (in All Saints) and a chance to ask questions over coffee afterwards. If you're interested in community and how the church can faithfully play a part in that, do come along!
Lent & Easter
The Lent course is going to run on Wednesdays, 10.30-11.30am in All Saints, beginning 13th March for 5 weeks. Everyone is welcome. (If you'd like to join an evening group to look at this, Vanessa is offering to run one on Monday evenings. Do get in touch with her if you're interested.)
Monday to Wednesday (15th-17th April) I'm going to lead a short reflection each evening at 7pm in All Saints. Maundy Thursday (18th April) at 7pm we will have a service of communion in the round, and Good Friday will include the Walk of Witness and a choir-led service at Lyminster. Look out in the pew sheet for more details coming soon!
Well done to the All Saints team that came third in the Pancake event this morning, claiming a £25 prize for the Fodbank.
Please continue to pray for all those named on the pew sheet, and the 11 people who've just embarked on Alpha!
God bless
Tom
